It’s a Unicorn!

Unleash Your Wanderlust With The Ultimate Shuttle Bus Conversion Project!

Why we bought it, what we were going to do with it, and why we are selling it

OUR STORY...

We purchased this Krystal Koach Shuttle Bus with big dreams of turning it into a cozy camper.

Our vision was to take off-grid adventures, maybe explore wine country, and enjoy the freedom of the open road—without feeling cramped in a tiny space.

Knowing my husband is a maintenance freak, we specifically sought out the highly coveted 7.3 diesel engine expecting to enjoy those 500,000 miles traveling and taking in the beauty of this country.  While we could have chosen a small van, we felt that if we were going to take the time, energy and expense to build out an RV, we wanted one that would have PLENTY of space – and felt space enough for a king size bed was a must.

Because we planned to use it and wanted it to be dependable on the road, my husband put a lot of time and care into getting it ready for our planned transformation, starting first with going over the mechanical systems with a fine tooth comb.

He removed the seats, checked over, fixed or replaced anything that needed attention. We were so close to starting the fun part – the rebuild!

But life had other plans. Some unexpected health issues have come up, and unfortunately, we’re no longer able to take on the camper conversion like we had hoped.

Honestly, it’s been a tough decision – we held on to the dream for as long as we could, hoping things would turn around, but sadly, that hasn’t happened.

The only reason we’re letting it go is because we simply can’t bring our vision to life. So now, we’re hoping this shuttle bus finds its way to someone who’s ready to create their own dream home in a mobile camper.

It’s a great blank canvas, and we’d love to see it go to someone excited to bring it to life!

Why This Shuttle Bus is Your Ideal Conversion Project:

Unmatched Longevity: The Heart of Your Adventure – The Legendary 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel Engine:

Let’s talk about the engine, the very heart of this incredible machine: the legendary 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel. This isn’t just any engine; it’s a testament to Ford’s commitment to durability and performance. Known for its robust construction and exceptional reliability, the 7.3L is a workhorse that’s built to last.

Why Size Matters for Your Dream Conversion:

Invest in Space, Invest in Potential

Converting this bus is about creating a home on wheels, and space is your most valuable asset. Choosing a larger bus like this Krystal KK33 provides the essential foundation for a truly livable and functional home, offering the freedom to design without compromise. Don’t limit your vision with a cramped space; embrace the potential for a comfortable living area, functional kitchen, and room for a king-size bed! Ample square footage now means investing in a far more enjoyable and practical travel experience down the road. Start big, dream bigger, and build the adventure you truly desire.

Designed for the Long Haul:

These engines are renowned for regularly exceeding 300,000, 400,000, and even 500,000 miles with proper maintenance. That’s a lifetime of adventures waiting to be had!

Simplicity and Serviceability:

Unlike newer, more complex diesel engines, the 7.3L is relatively simple to maintain. Known for its ease of maintenance and readily available parts and less downtime on the road.

A Proven Track Record:

The 7.3L has earned a cult-like following among diesel enthusiasts for its unwavering reliability and longevity. It’s a testament to an era of engines built for enduring performance.

88,443 Miles? That’s Just the Beginning:

With only 88,443 miles on the odometer, it’s barely broken in!. It’s ready to take you on countless journeys, across continents and through diverse landscapes, with the confidence that it will keep going strong.

Why a diesel engine is a better choice than a gasoline engine…

Diesel engines like the 7.3L are built with heavier-duty components to withstand higher compression and torque demands, inherently making them more robust than gas engines. This stronger construction, coupled with diesel fuel’s lubricating properties, leads to significantly less wear and tear over time.

While a well-maintained gas engine might reach 200,000 miles, a similarly cared-for diesel engine like the 7.3L is often capable of exceeding 400,000, 500,000, and even upwards of a million miles.

Choosing diesel in your shuttle bus provides a far more durable and long-lasting foundation for your camper conversion – most especially since you are investing time and money to build it out – ensuring your investment goes the distance for countless adventures.

Imagine the Possibilities!

  • A cozy living area with a kitchenette.
  • A comfortable sleeping space for two or more – there’s room for a king in this bus!
  • An off-grid power system with solar panels and batteries.
  • A fully functional bathroom with a shower and toilet.
  • Plenty of storage for all your adventure gear.
  • Dimensions of buildable space: 7 feet 5.5 inches interior width.  23 feet 8 inches interior length.

But is it really worth the price?

Here’s more info on the value versus the price:

Lower End (Fair Condition):
If the bus has visible wear, some mechanical issues, or outdated interior, it might fall in the $15,000 to $20,000 range.

Mid-Range (Good Condition):
A well-maintained bus with a clean interior and solid mechanicals could fetch $20,000 to $30,000.

Upper End (Excellent Condition):
A meticulously maintained bus with recent upgrades, a pristine interior, and complete service records could potentially reach $30,000 or more.

Considering all of these factors, this well maintained 2003 Ford F-550 Krystal 33 with the 7.3 diesel engine, and 88,443 miles, could reasonably be valued in the $20,000 to $30,000 range.
