We need more information about your donation to the Live Auction - Paddles Up - please explain what that is.
We call this a direct donation. Each donor contributes $199 to your organization, and in return, Ever After Portraits provides a $1,600 Gift Certificate to the donor. There’s no limit on Gift Certificates—every donor at this level receives a Gift Certificate.
We already have photographers donating.
As a fine art portrait studio with a long-standing reputation in the DC area since 2005, we prioritize a different approach to portraits. We offer a complete, luxury portrait experience that includes a custom, tangible art piece—a significant, finished work, not just a digital session. There are no hidden costs or pressure for upgrades. This is quite different from what you might see with less experienced photographers offering basic sessions.
How will winners schedule their portrait session?
Through a phone conversation, a mutually agreed upon date will be chosen with the winner.
What is the average cost of a session?
An in-studio family portrait session and our Fine Art 10″ Portrait, a one-of-a-kind piece in our Signature Finish with Lavish Artistry, cost $1,600.
If someone would like to purchase more or order a larger size, there would be an additional expense.
Why are you donating so much?
Giving back is a core part of our business, with a goal of donating over $300,000 this year. Instead of traditional marketing, we choose to support organizations like yours, connecting with families who value our work. Our hope is that once they experience our studio, they’ll return for future portraits and share us with their friends—a win-win for everyone!
The value of your Gift Certificate is too high - will you lower it?
We appreciate your perspective. However, the value we’ve set reflects the true worth of our portrait experience and the finished artwork we provide. It’s a luxury item, designed to generate significant interest and substantial bids, which ultimately benefits your fundraising goals.
Lowering the value would diminish the impact of the donation and potentially limit the amount you raise. We’ve carefully considered the market value and the potential return for your event.
We believe that offering a high-value, exclusive item will attract a discerning audience and create a buzz around the auction, leading to higher bids and increased donations.
While we understand your concern, we’re confident that the value we’ve set is optimal for maximizing the fundraising potential of this donation. We are donating a high value item, and the winning bid amount goes directly to the charity. However, if you feel it doesn’t align with your auction strategy, we respect your decision.
Can we count on you to donate to our organization every year?
We’re happy to donate each year—as long as we receive the winner’s name and contact information after the event. This is essential to validate the certificate and prevent loss or theft.
