It was a little cold that day but the sun was shining and the sky was a glorious shade of blue. There were hardly any clouds in the sky. Mindy and I were not sure what to expect. We had met Kara before but had never met Ryan! By the end of the session, we were all laughing — it was so much fun! As we were going back through the images, one thing was apparent — Ryan and Kara are in love! L-O-V-E! The way they look into each other’s eyes, the way they laugh, the way they cuddle — are all unique and it was truly a joy to be able to capture that!
Kara is just as cute as a button as they say down south. She is also stunningly beautiful! I love her green eyes! Ryan is the perfect match for her — and they both looked very stylish in their white sweaters. Ryan’s matching his ice blue eyes. Can you tell we have a thing for eyes? Lol! So we must say with such gorgeous subjects, we really love the way the images turned out!
Ryan and Kara . . . we cannot WAIT to photograph your wedding! We know it’s going to be beautiful. But until then, we hope you enjoy these images.

Tarsha and Donald are different from most couples. As soon as we met them, we “knew”. The type of light bulb moment that comes when a good idea pops into your brain. Tarsha and Donald are just like that . . . a good idea. They’re perfect together! There’s no wondering here, Tarsha and Donald are in LOVE! He likes to make sure she looks the best with a stylish watch on her wrist. While she makes sure he’s well taken care of — even by her family when they eat together every week. These two are a classic example of what becoming a family looks like.
Did I mention they have a really cool love story too? Well, both Tarsha and Donald ride motorcycles. How cool is that, right? Her bike club and his bike club happened to meet at a local restaurant — Friday’s — that particular evening. Tarsha and her friends were sitting in the same area Donald usually sits. One thing led to another and they were sitting across from each other, talking, enjoying each other’s presence. Donald said he “knew” right then and there that Tarsha was the one for him. We couldn’t agree more.

It was a Monday night. It was late and her fuzzy slippers warmed her feet as she lounged on the couch…he fidgeted nervously in his Lazy Boy, wondering if she would understand why he made the book…so their kids would know what life was like at this moment.
She was looking at through the book and thinking how out of character it was for him to create something like it, it seemed so random. Questions filled the pages — what types of music did they listen to, what things did they like to do together…pages with places for photographs of them…spaces for notes about their past, present…and wait…their future?
Her eyes flashed with irritation as she looked up at him and reminded him…what future? For two years there has been nothing concrete…not the wedding she wanted to plan, not the ring she craved to wear, not the proposal she longed to say yes to…it was about that moment that her eyes caught the light of a bright, shiny, verrrrryyyy large diamond ring, connected to a hand and as her eyes traveled up to his face, the look of love in his eyes as he said the words, “Will you marry me?” made the wait quite worth it.

“I have always been shy and felt very uneasy in front of the camera and I am always the first one to flee if some over-enthusiastic friends point their cameras in my general direction. But like all other brides out there, I would love to have professional photographers in my wedding who can capture all the emotions and all the important people in my life on my big day and I have also been secretly drooling over other people’s pretty wedding pictures. After interviewing 8+ photographers and plenty of budgeting exercises, I hired Mindy & Joriana. To be honest, professional wedding photography can be pricey but it’s really worth it. Mindy & Joriana are down-to-earth, very helpful, very genuine and extremely professional and responsive in their communications. Their package includes an engagement session which we did at our undergrad college (where we first met). I was really nervous beforehand but the two quickly eased my worries and before we knew it, my hubby and I were enjoying a nice date out (and we got tons of pretty pictures out of it).
Mindy was also very helpful when it comes to wedding planning. I did not have a wedding planner and was pretty much clueless when it came to wedding planning. But Mindy gave me more than enough information (a big planner) right after I hired them as our photographers. Throughout the planning process, I consulted with Mindy whenever I had questions or whenever I felt stuck or felt stressed out, and she has gone over and beyond to help me numerous times, especially when it comes to nailing down the final schedule & details of the big day.
When it comes to my big day, they went over everything in great details beforehand and they scouted my wedding site to get familiarized with the place and to come up with cool ideas for shooting. I had my dream wedding, with the perfect man and perfect people in my ceremony and reception, and Mindy & joriana’s photojournalistic approach and skills allow them to capture the mood and emotions of the day accurately. Everytime I look at my wedding pictures, I find myself going through all the emotions of my big day again and I simply can’t help crying some happy tears — really, all the nice things I could say about Mindy & Joriana can fill up pages. I just want to say that I feel really blessed to have them there on my big day.
The last thing I wanted to mention is that even though Joriana is very young, her photography skill is top-notched and she has some of the coolest ideas and is responsible for some of my favorite images. She is not only a great photographer but with time, I can see her evolving into a true artist =)”

Two sets of footsteps mold themselves into the sand, leading up the beach to two people. Two friends. Two lovers. One is rather nervous as he hopes the other doesn’t notice the small square box lodged securely in his pocket. The other is carefree, with nothing but the wind in her hair and the setting sun to admire. Meet Jim and Jen.
Jim planned for this moment. The moment in the Outer Banks, (with Jen’s family anxiously awaiting their return) to drop down on one knee, and ask the woman of his dreams if maybe, possibly, she would like to spend the rest of forever with him. Jen’s face responds even before her words do. Tears of happiness stream down her face as she accepts this man, Jim, to be her husband.
When we met Jim and Jen for the first time, this was the first story we heard. Gosh, how romantic, we thought. As time continued on, we planned for Jim and Jen’s engagement shoot. We truly wanted it to be special, for such an awesome couple. And I have to say, as we looked through the images, we agreed that this is one of our favorite shoots. The setting sun, the backlit foliage, a gorgeous couple . . . everything was just perfect! We think this couple is perfect, too.

Anyways, here’s my point . . . getting to be there for the first day of a couple’s lives is a really amazing thing. Mindy and I love our jobs, and we’d like to think it shows through in our images.
Well . . . we just got a rave review from one of our awesome couples — Tim and Rebecca. Here’s what they said:
“I originally contacted Mindy and Joriana because they were a team of two, and I really liked that idea. Turns out – I was spot on. They were a joy to work with, and the images from our engagement shoot and our wedding were simply amazing. I’ve never seen photos like these before, and everyone that has seen them has raved about how wonderful they are. They are, quite frankly, artists who love what they do, and it shows through in their work.
Besides giving us stunning images, they were so wonderful to be around. Every bride is different, and has her own ideas for her big day. But trends in the industry are ever evolving as brides evolve. Here are some of the big ones:
Natural Hair:
The “undone look”, I call it. Brides like their hair to look like it’s naturally straight, wavy, or curly. Like they just woke up, brushed it and voila! Gorgeous hair. To achieve this look, use minimal product and one that does multiple functions. My favorite is a styling cream. Styling creams add control, texture and shine and can be used with or without heat. This is Jen Aniston kind of hair. Beyonce also wore her hair in this nature for her wedding.
Half up, Half down:
Brides of today love versatility and nothing says I’m glamorous but not trying too hard like this style. And with a slew of celebrities from Jessica Simpson to Eva Longoria Parker choosing this style for their big days, it’s more popular than ever! This can be tailored to your individual style, i.e. loose and flowy, or classic. Pointers: This style works best for spring and fall weddings unless your entire event is inside.
Jersey:
Since the popularity of shows like Jersey Shore and Jerseyliscious, over-the-top volume has come back in a big way. I have never had so many clients ask for “Jersey” hair, than this year! Volume can be great as it adds drama to your look — and can also give a sweet gown more edge. My advice is to make sure if you ask for this, your style is still timeless. You don’t want to date your wedding photos.
